Hiking

Southern Vermont

Two major hiking trails run along the spine of the Green Mountains. The Appalachian Trail and the Long Trail follow the same route from the state’s southern border to the Sherbourne Pass. The Long Trails continues north (following the heights of the Green Mountains to the Canadian Border) and the Appalachian Trail turns east. Also, marked foot trails and nature trails can be found at the many state and federal parks. We have hiking maps in our lobby. Visit vtstateparks.com for a comprehensive listing of trails and maps of the Green Mountain State.
